Carli Reiners new Henderson Health Care Foundation Executive Director

HENDERSON, Neb. – Henderson Health Care Foundation (HHCF) has announced the addition of Carli Reiners as the new Executive Director.

Reiners comes to this role with previous fundraising experience, having served as the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Nebraska’s Lincoln organization while assisting with development in the Omaha chapter.

Reiners has a ‘passion for people.’ Outside of her part-time role with HHCF, she provides mental health counseling services as a therapist across the region and soon to be in Henderson. Her interest in Henderson Health Care Services (HHCS) originated when her husband, Josh Reiners, joined the organization as a Physician Assistant in late 2021. Additionally, Reiners plans to launch her own mental health startup to further support the community’s well-being in Henderson.

In early 2022, Carli began volunteering for HHCF as a Board Member. As the Foundation’s efforts continue to grow, the Board recommended that an Executive Director was a necessary addition to achieve their goals. Reiners requested to be considered for the position with the heart of the community in mind. She was selected amongst a pool of other formal applicants, as she focused on long term-growth, strategic planning, and the nurturing of relationships as priorities.

Loren Huber, HHCF Board President, said: “Through the interview process, in selecting an Executive Director, Carli stood out regarding her view of what our Foundation needs to accomplish going forward. She has stepped into that role with great enthusiasm.”

Reiners attributes her faith and love for rural health care as the nudge towards helping to lead the Foundation.

I remember standing in the middle of Main Street in Henderson during the Spirit of Christmas in December of 2021, just weeks after Josh had joined HHCS. I told him that there was something special happening within this organization. I had a feeling that night that this was probably just the beginning of our desire to further connect and help support what was good here. I thanked God for the opportunity to get to be a part of these communities and prayed that night that He would direct our path here. I have been a recipient of excellent bedside care in the past, and as a provider who frequently collaborates within the medical field, I was beyond impressed with what we found here—it really is the best. It truly is like a family—I wanted to be a part of that family professionally.”

Reiners has hit the ground running, assisting with the GROWTH Gala which was held in March, and is now actively promoting the Capital Campaign. With the help of the Board, she is excited to connect with others who have an appreciation for building the future of HHCS.

“I want to help tell that story and inspire others, across generations, to consider what it means to make an impact by supporting HHCS. I look at my children and think about what health care might mean for them decades from now. The quality of care that is found here—the professionalism—the ability to receive specialty services- without having to drive through blocks of stoplights…those are gifts to me! Why not contribute to ensure that our future can experience the same? I am so honored to get to help lead our efforts, especially as we are in the middle of the Capital Campaign to support the Hospital/Surgery Expansion. I am humbled by the support I have already witnessed and so eager to lock arms with all who share this vision.”
