The “From Russia to America” kids camp is a fun afternoon reenacting the immigrant’s long journey from Russia to the Immigrant House near Henderson. Kids will pack their suitcases and learn firsthand what it was like to make an ocean voyage and cross-country train ride before arriving in Henderson in 1874.
It will be held Tuesday, June 6, 1 PM – 3 PM for kids who have completed K – 8th grade. Pre-register by calling Suzanne Ratzlaff at 402-723-4252 or emailing csratz@mainstaycomm.net . The camp fee is $15, but parents, grandparents, or caregivers are welcome to participate free of charge.
The camp will be held at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park, located just north of Henderson on the west side of the spur. The camp is sponsored by Henderson Heritage & Tourism.
