Huskie Boys Golf Team Place 3rd at Superior Invite & Blue Hill Invitational Cyndi Piel Memorial Scramble

It was a busy two days for the Heartland Boys Golf Team bringing home plenty of medals on both days! The Heartland Huskie Boys Golf Team came home with a strong first-place finish from Senior Andrew Franz at the Superior Country Club on Monday, April 22. He shot an 80, which was five strokes better than Jeff Hollister from Doniphan-Trumbull’s second-place finish. Creighton Friesen placed sixth, posting an 86. Heartland placed third overall, coming in at 365. Other team members contributing were Austin Schmidt (99), Zach Miller (100), and Jack McCormick (107).

On Tuesday, April 23, the Huskies traveled to Red Cloud for the Blue Hill Invitational Cyndi Piel Memorial Golf Scramble. They had a great day, winning both the A & B flights. In the A flight, Creighton Friesen and Zach Miller posted a low 72 (37-35), and in the B flight, Andrew Franz and Austin Schmidt also shot a 72 (38-34).

Heartland placed third as a team against nine other schools with a score of 239, just one stroke behind second-place Deshler. In the C flight, Jack McCormick and Jordan Nolan scored a 95 (51-44). JV players Ben Janzen and Blake Goertzen shot a 90 (40-46),
