Huskies Wrangle Mustangs for Win

It was a misty night in Sutton with wet conditions on the field, but the Heartland Huskies managed to keep their balance and beat the Sutton Mustangs on their home turf 18-12.

Huskies Lose in 5 Sets to Hampton Hawks and Sweep McCool Junction Mustangs

The Heartland Huskie Volleyball team had a workout this week with two matches played at home. They hosted the Hampton Hawks on Tuesday, September 19th, and lost in five sets 2-3 (25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 25-16, 9-15). On Thursday, the McCool Junction Mustangs came to town, and the Huskies swept them 3-0 (25-7, 25-23, 25-14).

Huskies Girls Golf Team Competed at Pawnee Hills Invite

The Heartland Girls Golf team traveled to Fullerton on Tuesday, September 19, to compete in the Pawnee Hills Invite. Nine schools were at the meet, and Mia Hiebner placed 3rd overall, scoring an 85 (42-43). Tara Buzek carded a 116 (56-60), placing 28th at the invite.

Thane Wetjen is Buzzed About His Bees

Thane Wetjen, a Heartland junior, has the buzz for bees. He first got interested in raising his own bees after talking with Heartland 2022 graduate Carson Ott. Ott received a scholarship to start his bee business through the Nebraska Beekeepers Association by writing an essay about how to save the bees a few years back.

There was no give-up in the Huskies Friday night in their matchup against McCool Junction, but the Mustangs prevailed, winning 36-24.

Weekly Huskie Volleyball Wrap-up

The Lady Huskies got off their losing streak this week by sweeping Fillmore-Central 3-0 on Tuesday, September 12. They won 25-23, 25-20, and 25-22 on Fillmore-Central’s home court.
