Heartland School Board Meets Today for Regular Meeting at 5 P.M. With Resignation and New Hire on the Agenda

Here are some highlights on the agenda for the Heartland School Board’s regular meeting today.

The Heartland School Board will hold its regular meeting today at 5 p.m. On the agenda is the acceptance of the resignation of Business Teacher and FBLA sponsor James McCartney, which was submitted on March 15. McCartney was hired to replace long-time business teacher Kristy Most last fall and will leave after one school year at Heartland.

Also on the agenda is the approval of a contract for the hiring of Karma Yantzie. Yantzie currently teaches Business at Shickley and is their FBLA sponsor, Technology Coordinator, and Boys’ Golf Coach.

The board will discuss the Contingency Project Costs Summaries for the upcoming May 14 Bond Election. The detailed chart below outlines the costs for each part of the comprehensive project.

The board will consider a travel request for Heartland music (band & chorus) students to travel to Omaha and Kansas City on May 23rd. Below is a copy of their itinerary from the Heartland website.
