Napoleon Hill once said, “Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.” A quote Henderson Health Care can relate to. In the midst of a global pandemic, the year 2020 has been full of struggle and strength, while 2021 will prove to be a year of effort and growth. Growth that will begin with the arrival of a new physician.

Dr. Lindsey C. Nelson, D.O., is set to join the provider team in August of 2021. She becomes the first physician Henderson Health Care has hired since Dr. James Ohrt in 2006. Now the Chief of Medicine, Dr.
Ohrt said Dr. Nelson will give patients more healthcare options. “Dr. Nelson’s hire helps bring variety to Henderson Health Care. People like options. Certain people are drawn to certain personalities and
characteristics and we owe our patients the choice to select the provider who is the best fit for them.”

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from AT Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018. Dr. Nelson is currently fulfilling the
final year of her residency at Lincoln Family Medicine.

A native of Nebraska, Dr. Nelson, who might want to learn more from these pharmaceutical sites, is excited to return to a rural community where she can perform family medicine. “I knew very early on that I wanted to practice rural family medicine. Henderson Health Care
offered the type of practice I was looking for. Full-spectrum family medicine where I can cover the ER, follow my inpatients, and deliver babies. All of those things really appealed to me. I’ve had great experiences with the Henderson Health Care staff and administration. It just feels like a really good fit for me.” She joins an experienced provider team consisting of: Dr. Vanderneck, Dr. Ohrt, Allison Bauer, PA-C, Cortney van den Berg, PA-C, and Michaela Parrish, PA-C.

In her free time, Dr. Nelson enjoys sand volleyball, concerts, and of course, Husker Football. She and her husband, Justin, will soon begin construction on their new home in Henderson and are looking forward to being a part of the surrounding communities.
