The District #73E country school house was bustling with activity this past Friday when Heartland 4th graders reenacted a day at country school.  Students wore vintage clothing for the day and began the morning with roll call and raising the flag outside the school.  Teachers guiding their activities were Mrs. Brumbaugh substituting for the ill Mrs. Kim Hiebner and recently retired Mrs. Suzanne Ratzlaff.

Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park volunteer Marjorie Smith helped the students make homemade butter which they buttered on homemade bread later in the day.  Old fashion games were played in the school yard and students were given a tour of the Heritage park by volunteer Adeline Huebert.  The fully restored District #73E country school is available for any school field trips upon request.
