A Nebraska woman is set for sentencing in January following a plea deal in a case where she was accused of stealing from nearly two dozen vulnerable adults while she was their court-appointed guardian.

Becky Stamp, 57, of Bradshaw pleaded no contest to theft over $5,000 plus 22 counts of abuse of a vulnerable adult, all felonies.

Though there is no mandatory minimum to the charges, York County District Court Judge James Stecker could sentence her up to 20 years in prison on the theft charge and up to three years each on the 22 abuse charges.

In the affidavit for Stamp’s arrest last year, Nebraska State Patrol Investigator Jason Morris said Stamp had been appointed to pay bills and make financial decisions for a York County man.

But a check of bank records for her business, Stamped with Love LLC, showed that between April 2024 and Oct. 2, 2025, she had spent more than $21,000 of his money at places like fast food restaurants, Casey’s and Walmart while he was in jail, staying at a mission or in treatment, Morris said.

She was arrested Nov. 5, posted bond the next day and was released.

At the time, Stamp was a court-appointed guardian for more than 30 people in Nebraska, including five in Lincoln, according to a news release from the advocacy group Disability Rights Nebraska, which said Stamp’s case highlighted gaps in oversight of guardianships.

In an amended complaint in July, the Attorney General’s Office laid out additional allegations after the office’s Medicaid Fraud found 21 more victims and unauthorized charges totaling more than $145,000.
