Heartland Community School Release
The Heartland Community Schools quiz bowl team competed in their first competition of the year by attending the Nebraska State Fair quiz bowl for the first time.
There were 24 teams from schools of all different sizes. The day began with three rounds of round-robin competition. The Huskies faced the team from Seward in the first round and lost on a sudden-death question, 35-45. The team then faced the team from Howells- Dodge and lost 10-40. The final round of the day was against the team from Crete and the team lost a difficult round of questions 15-20.
Only the top 12 teams advanced to the tournament, so the Huskies ended the day 0-3. The team’s next competition will be the Literature Bowl in Seward on September 16th.
