HAMILTON COUNTY – Authorities say Rick Boardman, 61, of Henderson, was pronounced dead at the scene of an airplane crash in Hamilton County.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s office says deputies were called to the scene near Roads 5 and X, just before 9:15 p.m., Thursday night, June 11.
Emergency crews from both Hamilton and York Counties responded, along with the Henderson Fire Department and Aurora Ambulance.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
A preliminary report from the FAA indicates a Piper PA36 struck a tower.
Boardman spent more than four decades in aerial application and was a past president of the National Agricultural Aviation Association.
