The S.S. Teutonia was the ship that carried the immigrants on their 17-day journey to America.

Have you ever wondered what it was like to make the long journey from Russia to America in the 1870s? Come out to the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park and learn all about this experience for the “From Russia to America Reenactment” event for adults.

It will be held on Sunday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. and is open to the public. The reenactment will include several stops around the park to imagine what the immigration adventure to a new country was like in the 1870s.  Four golf carts will be available for those who want a ride while following the reenactment.

A question-and-answer session will follow at the Gathering Room, where cookies and refreshments will be served. There is no admission fee, but free will donations will be accepted.

The event will be moved indoors if it rains.

The Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park is located 1.5 miles south of the Henderson I-80 Exit #342 on Spur 93A. For more information, contact Suzanne Ratzlaff at 402-694-8669.
