YORK – Candidate filings continue as the non-incumbent deadline nears – which is March 2.

​As of the end of the day on Feb. 24, these are the candidates seeking local offices:

  • York County Commissioner Daniel Grotz has filed to seek reelection to his seat in District 1.
  • York County Commissioner Andy Bowman has filed to seek reelection to his seat in District 3.
  • York County Commissioner Randy Obermier has filed to seek reelection to his seat in District 4.
  • York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin has filed to seek reelection to his position.
  • York County Attorney Gary Olson has filed to seek reelection to his position.
  • York County Clerk Mary Melby is seeking reelection.
  • York County Clerk of the District Court Sharilyn Steube is seeking reelection.
  • York County Public Defender David Michel is not seeking reelection. Timothy Matas has filed as a non-incumbent to seek election to this position.
  • York County Surveyor Rex Heiden did not file his candidacy.
  • York County Sheriff Paul Vrbka is not seeking reelection. York County Sheriff Captain Josh Gillespie has filed as a candidate for sheriff.
  • York County Treasurer Megan Williams is seeking reelection.
  • The seats on the Heartland School Board which are up for election this year are those of Jennifer Hiebner, Ryan Goertzen and Tammy Ott. Goertzen has filed to run again while the other two have not. Filing as a non-incumbent is Tiffanee Ogorzolka.
  • The seats on the McCool School Board which are up for election this year are those of Alysia Clark, Krystal Rasmussen and Matt Clark. All three have filed to seek reelection.
  • The seats on the York Public Schools Board which are up for election this year are those of Alison North, Alex Hildebrand and Pepper Papineau. All three have filed to seek reelection.
  • The seats on the Henderson City Council which are up for election this year are those of Brian Hiebner, Jordan Hiebner and Teri Pollet. Jordan Hiebner and Pollet have filed to run. Brian Hiebner is not seeking reelection.
  • The seats on the York City Council which are up for election this year are those of Jeff Pieper, Scott Van Esch, Stephen Postier and Doreen Lopez. Postier, Lopez and Van Esch have filed to run for their seats. Pieper is not seeking reelection. Filing as a non-incumbent is Richard McDougall.
