Eppic Celebrations is a new business featuring a unique venue for outdoor weddings, parties, and other special events. Drusilla Epp and her husband, Matthew, have created a lovely venue featuring a 1950s granary, restored and completely renovated, on their acreage northeast of Henderson.
It’s no surprise that Drusilla has found a way to turn her passion for creating and entertaining into a business. “My family has always said, ‘Why don’t you do this for a living?’. Over the years, I’ve had plenty of experience hosting parties, weddings, and graduations, so I guess it just comes naturally.”
Their property is located at 514 Road 9 and includes a collection of outdoor spaces for weddings, as well as a converted machine shed designed for receptions.
They were prompted to convert the granary into living quarters when Matthew’s son Jayden needed to move back home during COVID. “We came up with a floor plan, and Matthew, Jayden, and the rest of their family worked on it together,” said Drusilla.
The space has a completely modern kitchen, a large living area, and an upstairs loft with beds and a full bathroom. “We tried to repurpose much of the wood from the original granary, but still have a contemporary living space. The original shoots for transporting grain are visible, railings on the loft, and wood siding are still here.”
“My vision for the granary is a place where we can host parties, as well as accommodations for bridesmaids to be able to all spend the night together here, where we have room for seven to sleep. We added this small deck off the loft that overlooks the property and makes a great photo of the bride and groom.”
What makes Eppic Celebrations a bit different from other wedding venues is their ability to provide the whole package, including a rehearsal dinner, comfortable overnight accommodations for the Bride’s party, and catering.
“My goal for whoever rents our venue is that they can truly enjoy their event,” said Drusilla. She can make it more enjoyable by providing rehearsal meals, cupcakes, and desserts, and is available to assist with decorating and coordinating any event.
Their property offers a pretty setting with multiple areas for weddings, graduations, parties, and reception setups around the granary and machine shed. It’s conveniently located only seven miles from the York interchange and about 4 1/2 miles northeast of Henderson.
