It’s always exciting to report on a new business startup in Henderson. Tyler J. Brown, CPA, LLC, has wasted no time getting his accounting firm off the ground and running. He had previously worked at Bangs & Stewart, CPA, LLC in Wood River for the past five years. He decided to start his own CPA firm this past October.
It’s a homecoming for Tyler and his wife Bailey (Carr), who are both Heartland graduates. Tyler’s parents, Bob and Connie Brown, and Bailey’s parents, Tim and Tonya Carr, both live in Henderson, who are thrilled to have them and their three young children in town.
Family ties had a lot to do with wanting to return to Henderson, but Tyler admits he’d never thought he’d be moving back to Henderson.
While living in Wood River, Bailey taught high school math. With their third child on the way, they decided that Bailey would stay home with the kids when the school year ended. Last April, they purchased a home in Henderson and moved back home.
Tyler graduated from Wayne State College in December of 2018 with an accounting degree. “I took a job at Cornerstone Bank in Shelton and worked there for about a year and a half,” said Brown.
“In 2023, I decided I wanted to go back to school and get my CPA license. It was a pretty chaotic time since we had just had our second child, but I was able to complete the additional 30 credit hours required to sit for the CPA exams. In 2024, I passed all the exams and received my CPA license,” said Brown.
His business is geared toward tax preparation for S Corporations, C Corporations, partnerships, single-member LLCs, trusts/estates, and personal tax returns. “I also offer bookkeeping and payroll services for clients that need it,” said Brown.
“Tax work can be complex and difficult, and I’m happy to assist my clients with all of their year-end planning and any other services they need,” said Brown.
