The York County Community Coalition (YC3), located in downtown York, continues its mission to help the community thrive and grow through the expansion of its Little Food Pantry program.
YC3 has played a key role in the development and placement of community food pantries throughout York County. Currently, there are three Little Food Pantries in York, located at the York County Fairgrounds, the York Community Center, and the York Housing Authority. Additionally, Waco has one pantry located at the City Park.
The Coalition has also built four additional pantries that are ready to be placed in the Benedict and Gresham communities. Thanks to a recently awarded grant, YC3 will soon be able to construct and install four more pantries throughout York County, extending its reach to even more residents in need.
“The goal of the Little Food Pantries is simple,” said Executive Director Avery Blum. “Take what you need and donate what you can. These pantries help ensure that no one in our community goes without access to basic food items.”
YC3 staff regularly monitor and restock the pantries, but the program’s success relies heavily on community support. Residents are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items such as macaroni and cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, and similar goods.
If a pantry is full, donations can be dropped off at the YC3 office, where staff will ensure items are distributed when supplies run low.
YC3 is also seeking new community partners and host locations for additional pantry placements. Individuals, organizations, or businesses interested in hosting a Little Food Pantry are encouraged to contact YC3 at info@yc3york.com.
