The Hampton Hawks ended their great season 7-2, losing 51-20 to the visiting Wallace Wildcats on Friday night at Hampton.
The Wildcats came out swinging, scoring on the first play of the game on a 57-yard pass for a TD. The Hawks answered on the next possession, scoring on their second play with a five-yard pass from Hansen to Riggs and a conversion with a two-yard pass to go up 8-6. The Hawks hung tough in the first half but were unable to generate any offense in the second half.
“Wallace is a very good team, and we just didn’t get the job done tonight. They scored right before the half, and then we turned the ball over three times in the 3rd quarter, and that pretty much ended the game. Despite the loss, I am extremely proud of this group and the season they produced,” said Coach Jones
