The Huskie football team traveled to Genoa on Friday night for a very competitive football game against Twin River, but they came up short, losing 16-28.

The Huskies got on the scoreboard early in the first quarter with a 17-yard run by Nevada Gloystein, who also ran in for the extra two points. With 3:24 to go in the first quarter, the Titans answered back with a TD run and successful extra two points, tying the score at 8-8.

The lead changed a few times, and the Huskies were ahead 16-14 in the third quarter after Waylon Tessman ran in a two-yard TD and the extra two points. It was all Titans in the fourth quarter when they had a big play scoring on a 74-yard reception, and then with 1:24 to go in the game, another big pass play for six points sealed the win.

It was a much closer game than the final score indicated. Nevada Gloystein had a big night rushing for 159 of the Huskies’ 180 yards, but it wasn’t enough. They had several chances to score when they were in the red zone, but couldn’t get into the end zone, turning it over on 4th downs.
