The parade was a wash, but the kids got their candy afterwards courtesy of the Heartland Football Team!
The traditional Heartland Homecoming Parade was suspended on Friday afternoon due to the rain, but that didn’t stop the fun! The Pep Rally was moved up to 2 p.m. in the Heartland theater with plenty of cheering, recognitions, and class competitions.
Heartland’s science teacher, Marc Regier, was the MC and kept the program running smoothly, entertaining the audience with his corny jokes in between performances, which were enjoyed by all!
The class competitions at the pep rally have been going on at Heartland for the past 20 years, and the talents of each class did not disappoint! Several Heartland teachers and a student representative from each class were the judges for Friday’s poster, dance, and singing competitions.
It was a very close one, but the Heartland Seniors prevailed, winning the number one spot overall. But it was the Juniors who stole the show with their unique and hilarious synchronized swimming routine, winning first place in the dance competition. You can watch it on X!
The Homecoming Royalty was introduced, and the King and Queen will be announced at the football game on Friday evening.
A good time was had by all who attended!
