It’s the year’s last event at the Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park, and Heritage Day never disappoints!

The weather was beautiful, with blue skies and temperatures in the 80’s on Saturday. A good crowd was on hand early in the morning to sample Sheila Huebert’s homemade waffles and cream sauce. Carol Janzen had the fryers going full steam with her team of volunteers frying up glazed and sugar New Year’s Cookies in the barn.

Dave Ehly played his guitar, singing and entertaining in the country church with a variety of traditional gospel music. The antique tractors were on display, and the pump organs in the Immigrant House and farmhouse were back to life played by Vernelle Friesen and Karen Dalke.

That’s just a small slice of the festivities, but here is a gallery of photos to remember Heritage Day!
