Trevor Nunnenkamp always knew that he wanted to work with his hands and do some type of a trade. It took a few different experiences for him to discover what he didn’t enjoy doing, but they all helped him to find his calling to be an electrician.

This interest led Trevor to Central Community College in Hastings where he received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Technology in December of 2008.

While he attended school, Trevor was not only learning in the classroom, but he also worked for Nissen Electric throughout his education.

In June of 2009, Trevor took a job at Sutton Electric where he gained valuable experience in residential and small commercial jobs. Trevor received his Journeyman’s License in June of 2011, and the following year he received his Electrical Contractor’s License. After working at Sutton Electric for over three years, he returned to work closer to home for Nissen Electric.

At home, Trevor has his wife Anna and his 6-month-old daughter, Ruby. Anna came to Henderson from Wisconsin in 2009 to work for Grace Children’s Home. She and Trevor married in September of 2010, and now Anna stays home to raise their daughter.

As Trevor continued to work, he held onto his dream from the beginning of owning his own business. In fact, it was actually in July of 2012 that Nunnenkamp Electric was officially established, but Trevor still continued to work elsewhere hoping someday he would make the transition to his own company. After building up a small clientele, Trevor and Anna felt God opening the doors for Trevor to do electrical work exclusively through his own company at the present time instead of many years in the future as they had originally planned.

Taking a leap of faith, the Nunnenkamps purchased a company van and designed a logo for Nunnenkamp Electric. As they have no option to have a click here button on the van that says all the details, a logo should explain it all. They had Matt Buller at Spectra Wraps decal the van with their new logo which is now easy to spot. The couple also started advertising and spreading the word about their new adventure.

You can contact Nunnenkamp Electric for your residential, commercial, and farm needs. Trevor will be available to serve the York area from 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on weekdays and will also take 24-hour emergency phone calls.

Even if you would just like to have a consultation or have Trevor help you with ideas and products, he enjoys helping customers with designs. He is also very familiar with LED lights and can help explain the benefits of them to you.

It is a dream of Nunnenkamp Electric to someday have a storefront with products available at the front and a workshop at the back. What a great addition to town this would be!
