The Lady Huskies season ended on Thursday night but not without a fight as they took (19-4) Exeter-Milligan into OT and would eventually come up short by the score of 37-43.  Just like Tuesday night in the opening round of Subdistricts against BDS the Huskies went back and forth with Exter-Milligan throughout the game.  The Huskies were looking to beat the Timberwolves last night after losing to them earlier in the season 36-49. This game would prove to be much different and the Huskies made some great adjustments in their game plan to compete with Exeter-Milligan throughout the whole game.

After battling for four quarters it proved to be not enough time to get the final result which ended in a 35-35 tie and would send the game into OT.  From there the Huskies really struggled to get any points, scoring only two points in OT.  They were then forced to foul late in the OT period which gave an opportunity for the Timberwolves to knock in some free-throws and eventually go on to win the game.

The Huskies were led in scoring by Senior Mikaelyn Dick who had 14 points and also Senior Sara Brune who added 13 points.

This team should have nothing to be ashamed of as they had a great season and ended the year with a record of 15-8. Even though the end result was not what they hoped, the foundation and standard the Seniors set over their last four years has been established for the Huskie Girls Basketball program at Heartland.  We look back and thank them for all they have done and look forward to the exciting promise ahead.
