Heartland Community School Release
The Heartland quiz bowl team attended the 2026 Literature competition in Seward on September 16th. The morning consisted of four round-robin matches, with the Huskies beating Humphrey and losing to Howells-Dodge, Hampton, and Fullerton to enter the single-elimination tournament with a 1-3 record and the number 6 seed.
The first round of the tournament saw the Heartland team in a rematch with the team from Humphrey and they were again victorious. The second round was a rematch with the team from Howells-Dodge, and unfortunately, the team was defeated by the eventual champions. A third round was played to determine the third-place finisher. The Huskies were able to avenge a previous loss by defeating the team from Fullerton to earn 3rd place honors..
The team will next compete at the Women’s Quiz Bowl tournament on September 30th.
