York County Press Release
YORK – The York County Sheriff’s Office is relaying the information how effective today, July 1, Nebraska’s court costs for traffic citations are increasing from $49 to $95 as a result of legislation passed by the Nebraska Legislature (LB935). This increase applies in addition to the fine associated with the traffic violation.
“While deputies do not determine court costs, we want to ensure our community is aware of this statewide change,” the YSO said in a statement. “The easiest way to avoid these additional costs is simple – obey posted speed limits, put the phone down, drive sober, buckle up and stay focused behind the wheel. Our goal is not to issue citations – it is to keep everyone traveling safely on Nebraska’s roadways. Safe driving helps prevent crashes, injuries and unnecessary expenses.”
