A 46-year-old Grand Island man now faces a federal charge of bank robbery in connection with the heist of the Cornerstone Bank in Bradshaw on April 1, 2026.
The maximum possible penalty if convicted is not less than 10 years’ and up to life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a 5-year term of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
Jason McCain, was previously taken into custody following a multi-agency investigation led by the York County Sheriff’s Office.
In the sequence of events that day, a man entered the bank around 8 a.m., demanded cash, and assaulted an employee, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled in a stolen vehicle, which was located shortly after.
The arrest resulted from a multi-agency investigation involving the York County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, and the FBI.
