Heartland senior Mia Hiebner was recently honored by the CNSGA at the York Country Club, receiving a scholarship.

We would like to welcome everyone here today. This year, your Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association has provided $7000 worth of scholarships to outstanding senior golfers in our region who have excelled in the sport of golf during his or her high school career. During this program since 2003, the CNSGA has provided 103 scholarships to TOP high school senior golfers in our area. This scholarship program is only possible through your donations. Thank you very much.
Now let us meet one of our scholarship winners. She is Mia Hiebner of Heartland Community Schools. With her today are his parents Troy and Corianne Hiebner.
As a recipient of a CNSGA $1000 scholarship, this Heartland Community Schools Huskie in “Invitational play” placed in the Top-10 in all of her 30 Invites while placing 1st fourteen times and 2nd twice.
In district competition, Mia was a two-time District Champion. At the Class C State Girls NSAA Tournament, Mia medaled all four years, placing 13th as a freshman and 4th as a sophomore. She was the Class C State NSAA Girls Runner-Up as a junior and as a senior she placed 3rd. Mia was selected to the Nebraska Coaches Association Superstate Team in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Our sincere congratulations go to Mia for such an outstanding performance.
Mia broke all individual school records and holds the school record of a low 18-Hole score of 71. In the York News-Times, Mia received an athlete of the week honor for her first three years of her career and then received Athlete of the Year her senior year. She received the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Academic All-State award all four years. Plus, Mia earned a Spring Junior Series All-Star award.
Mia’s High School Golf Coach, Chad Buzek, writes: “Mia is an individual of high integrity and character who exemplifies excellence in the classroom and on the golf course.”
The members of the Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association are proud to present Mia Hiebner with a $1000 scholarship to be used at Arizona Christian University in her pursuit of an Exercise Physiology and Human Performance degree while continuing her golfing career with the Arizona Christian Firestorm women’s golf team. Congratulations Mia!
