Two Heartland Students Compete in Trapshooting

The Crooked Creek trap team wrapped up its 2026 season recently, with several participants earning all-conference and state awards.
All-Conference Awards
Central Nebraska Trapshooting All-Conference awards are calculated by combining an individual’s best five scores out of six weeks. The top 15 junior and senior males and the top five junior and senior females are awarded All-Conference trophies. Crooked Creek trap team members earning this recognition, pictured above, were:

Cornhusker State Trap-shoot Awards
Crooked Creek trap team members competed at the Cornhusker State Trapshoot in Doniphan April 30-May 2.

The Crooked Creek Junior Ladies Team of Emery Scott, Eden Ochsner, Emily Ronnau, Asher Regier and Quinn Stark placed first in the Junior Scholastic Ladies Team division with a combined score of 323/500.
Nearly 900 students in grades 6-8 competed April 30, while more than 1,500 in grades 9-12 competed May 1-2. Several Crooked Creek shooters brought home top honors.
Jax Bergen shot a 98/100 (also running his first 50 straight) in the Junior division winning second place overall. Max Regier placed 6th in the 18-19 yard handicap division with his score of 66/75 and Ty Nunnenkamp placed 8th in the 22-23 yard handicap division with a score of 69/75.

The Crooked Creek Junior Ladies Team placed 1st in the Junior Scholastic Ladies Team division with a combined score of 323/500.
