Just one number stood between someone in York and a $78 million this weekend.
But don’t feel too bad for the unknown person who bought a Powerball ticket at the Pump & Pantry at 109 Lincoln Ave.
That person still won $1 million.
According to the Nebraska Lottery, the winner matched the first five numbers — 9, 30, 42, 50 and 52 — of Saturday’s drawing.
All that remained was matching the Powerball of 21.
A player in Texas had the same “misfortune.”
Monday night’s drawing is worth about $88 million.
Winning Nebraska Lottery Lotto tickets expire 180 days after the drawing. Prizes of $20,000 or more must be claimed in person at Lottery headquarters in Lincoln, 137 N.W. 17th St.
The odds of winning $1 million playing Powerball are 1 in 11,688,053.52.
