As the city clerk and treasurer in Henderson, Connie Brown has been indispensable in her efforts to ensure that the town flourishes, those who know her said.

“Keeping the town thriving, bringing in more people, making sure it doesn’t die and that we stay lively and growing as a town, is just important for the future,” said her nominator, Nicole Mierau. “Not just for her kids, but all of our kids.”
Family is one of Brown’s most closely held values. Outside of work, she devotes most of her time to family.
She has worked to ensure Henderson will continue to be an appealing place for families.
Work began on the City’s first spec house on North Main Street in 2024, with Friesen Construction pouring the footings and basement.
“Her goal is always to make Henderson the best community for those living here as well as a highly desired place for people to move, with well-cared-for streets, parks, aquatic center and community events.”
Brown’s central contribution to the growth of her community, according to Mierau, is her work on the subdivision recently established in Henderson.
“For many years, we’ve worked with the City Council on the dream of adding on and growing our town,” Mierau said. “Now with the new subdivision, it’s finally become a reality … she was instrumental in making it all actually happen.”
