On Wednesday, October 1st, Heartland Community Schools’ quiz bowl team attended the 22nd Annual NFWC/GFWC Girls Only Quiz Bowl competition in Seward.

The morning consisted of round robin play, and the Huskies ended with a 2-1 record and were seeded #8 going into the single elimination tournament. The first match of the afternoon was a rematch against the team from Dorchester, and the results were the same.
The Heartland ladies came away with a 55-10 victory, which then set up a contest against the number one seed from Shelton. Unfortunately, the Huskies never got going and were defeated by the eventual champions from Shelton, and finished the day with a 3-2 record.
The team will compete at the Seward Classic on October 22nd.
