It’s already time to reap some harvest this month at Celsea’s garden! Mid-summer can be daunting for any gardener, but check out how Celsea is working through the weeds and weather!

We caught up with Celsea this week and got an update on what’s happening in the garden. “I’ve been dealing with more weeds than ever this year, but despite that, a lot of produce is happening!” With all the rain in the past few weeks, she says it’s a “jungle” out there, but plans to harvest all of her garlic this week.

It’s time to harvest the onions and a variety of summer squash!

Her Kale produced a yummy Kale Caesar Salad topped off with sourdough croutons from leftover bread ends from the Hatchery!

Broccoli, berries, and cabbage have been coming in, and her kids eat the berries as soon as they are ripe.

Celsea planted peanuts for the first time this year and is encouraged to see them blooming. “I haven’t seen many apples this year, but the few we have look good.” Here’s a picture of a nice one with a few of the raspberries that are just starting to ripen.
