Freshman Tara Buzek finished first to win the 1600 M Run with a personal best time of 5:38.49.
With temperatures in the 60s and just a bit breezy, the Southern Nebraska Conference Track Meet enjoyed some pretty good track weather in Sutton on Saturday. Due to the weather forecast indicating rain by late afternoon, the meet started an hour earlier at 9 a.m. The only first-place finish for Heartland was Tara Buzek, who won the 1600 M Run with a strong showing, clocking in at 5:38.49, her best time this season. The girls placed 5th in the overall rankings, and the boys tied for 6th.
“We had a successful SNC meet with a lot of PRs. We continue seeing progress each meet with the goal of hitting peak performance at districts in about a week,” said Head Coach Christa Lindsay.
