Heartland Track Teams Compete at Sandy Creek Track Invite

The Heartland Huskies were fighting blustery conditions at the Sandy Creek Invite on Tuesday.

Despite less-than-ideal track conditions, the Heartland girls and boys track teams competed at Sandy Creek on Tuesday, April 2. The girls placed 7th overall, and the boys placed 6th.

Mariah Tessman was the only Huskie to grab first place in the pole vault, going 9-06.00.

“The wind was definitely a factor at the track meet, but all things considered, I thought our athletes competed hard. They gave their best effort while facing some adversity,” said Head Track Coach Christa Lindsay.

The Heartland throwers who don’t have an opportunity to enter a running event competed in the Weight Relay. The girls and boys both placed 3rd in this event at Sandy Creek.
