Heartland FBLA Takes 1st Place at 6th Annual UNK Business Competition

The Heartland Community Schools FBLA Chapter traveled to Kearney on Wednesday, Feb. 7, to compete in the 6th Annual UNK Loper Business Invitational. Students competed by putting their knowledge to the test in two separate subjects from Business Calculations, Business Communication, Economics, Intro to Business, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Intro to Financial Math, Personal Finance, Intro to IT, and one student participated in a Job Interview.

In addition to testing, students had the opportunity to check out the UNK food scene in the Nebraskan Student Union as well as question a panel of current college students and learn more about what it means to be a Loper.

As a team, Heartland put in the work and came out on top as the Champion of the business competition! “I am very proud of this group, who have continued to work hard this past year to better themselves, compete at the highest levels, and represent Heartland Community Schools,” said Mr. McCarntey FBLA sponsor.
