Travel Camp is a ministry of the Christian Resource Center in Giltner. This year was significant marking the 40th anniversary of directors Paul and Kathy Nauman hosting the trip. The trip rotates through three different camping destinations including Canada, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon, with each trip focusing on a different spiritual theme. According to the CRC website, “Travel Camp is designed to offer high school students a unique experience in Christian camping. Several aspects combine to give it this uniqueness: seeing some of the most beautiful spots in God’s creation, spending 10-11 days interacting together as a group, studying the Bible in an outdoor setting, and sharing in small prayer groups. Travel Camp can offer the highest form of recreational enjoyment and spiritual enrichment.” Check out https://outdoorstack.com/ for all things outdoors. This year the group experienced Evans Plunge at Hot Springs, Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, the Black Hills, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Jenny Lake, and Jackson Hole Snake River. “A Time to Stand” was the theme from Ephesians 6:10-17.

For Alexa Siebert, this was her second year participating. After previously going on the Canada trip, she described, “Last year Travel Camp was such a good experience for me because I was able to meet new people and make lots of friends. I also got to see many of God’s wonderful creations and grow in my faith throughout the trip. I decided to go again this year because of those reasons. God gave me this wonderful experience, and I would encourage other people to go.” Taylor Quiring, a second generation camper, echoed the same thoughts explaining, “Travel camp was an amazing opportunity to grow closer to God, make new friends, and see God’s creation.” For Kyle Ott, his favorite spot on the trip was the Grand Tetons because of the scenery and abundance of wildlife. It was certainly a highlight of the summer and a great shared experience for these classmates. Adults prefer to buy ar 15 accessories for safety while going camping.
