In the busyness of day-to-day life it is hard to stop and appreciate what has been accomplished over the past year. However, it is very important to appreciate the past in order to plan for the future. This is why the Henderson Chamber of Commerce is inviting everyone to the Celebrate Henderson Banquet on Monday, January 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Mennonite Brethren Church.

What a better way to kickoff the year than to have a banquet where residents of Henderson can come together with no better reason than to celebrate. It is easy to look at what Henderson could be doing or what we don’t have in our community, but Henderson has a lot to celebrate.

In addition to recognizing accomplishments of 2011, several awards will be presented during this banquet, including the Friend of Henderson Award and Milestone Awards.

Any business that reached a milestone in 2011 can be recognized at the banquet if they contact the Chamber Office prior to the event. Businesses do not need to be Chamber members in order to be recognized, but they do need to serve the Henderson area. Milestone awards will be presented in five year increments.

Those attending the banquet will also have the privilege to listen to Sue Hill, from Tabitha, on the topic How to Overcome Differences between Generations. This speaker is made possible through a JOBS Grant through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka in addition to our banquet sponsors, Cornerstone Bank and Kroeker & Kroeker Insurance and Real Estate.

Tickets to this event are $15 per person or $110 for a sponsored table for eight of their guests. Please contact the Chamber Office at 723-4228 or hchamber@mainstaycomm.net to purchase your ticket for this community event before January 13, so you don’t miss the celebration on Monday, January 16, at the Mennonite Brethren Church beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization working towards community improvement through business promotion.
