Heartland FFA Members Compete in State Milk Quality Products Competition

Five Heartland FFA members competed in the State Milk Quality Products contest on Friday, August 28. This contest was held on Central Community College’s campus in Grand Island. This year, there was a record high of 93 competitors across the state that made up 13 teams. The competition consisted of a written test, identifying a variety of cheeses, distinguishing various milk flavors/fat contents, and recognizing possible milk defects. 

Heartland’s team consisted of seniors David Hiebner and Maddie Janzen, and sophomores Brin Mierau, Willabelle Panko, and Sydney Rempel. As a team, they placed 4th. Individually, Willabelle placed 3rd, David placed 8th, Sydney placed 30th, Brin placed 33rd, and Maddie placed 43rd.
