The H&H Bearcats had their first triangular of the season this year, hosted by Shelby-Rising City on Thursday, August 27th.
H&H vs. Shelby-Rising City Match 0-2
They were beaten by Shelby-Rising City in their first match, losing in two sets, 12-25 and 18-25. In the second set, freshman Keely Burgess held off the Huskies at game point, serving for six straight points.
STATS: Sophie Minary led with five kills, Katelyn Farrall with four digs, Keely Burgess with three aces, and Julia Tessman with 10 assists.
H&H vs. Twin River Match 2-1
In the second match against the Twin River Titans, the Bearcats came out strong and won a close one, 26-24. In the second set, the Bearcats looked to be in control with a 14-9 lead, but the Titans came back strong to take the lead and defeat the Bearcats 25-20. In the final deciding set, the Bearcats prevailed, behind some strong serving to win 25-18.
