What is Zephyr Fest?

Zephyr Fest, Rockin’ For a Reason, is an annual event hosted by the Rockin’ For a Reason nonprofit organization and the band Iron Zephyr of York, Nebraska. The members include Mark Sulzle, Brandon Logston, Jen Logston, Isaac Sulzle, Sarah Sulzle, Lisa Singleton, and Keith Perkins. Mark and Isaac Sulzle, members of the band, wanted a way to give back to their community while performing in their hometown, which led to the creation of Zephyr Fest.

For the past five years, Zephyr Fest has had tremendous support from local bands, food vendors, businesses, and community members from all over, making this dream a successful annual event. In the first year, funds were donated to the Peyton, Parker, Lane Playground nonprofit in York to build a zero-entry, handicap-accessible playground. In the second year, donations were presented to the Soaring For C nonprofit organization in York. In the third year, Teammates of York received the donations. For the last two years, Zephyr Fest funds were presented to the Pediatric Cancer Action Network.

Every year, Zephyr Fest continues to change and grow for the better, and the organizers are very proud of where this annual community event is heading. Since year one, bounce houses for kids, a cornhole tournament, and face painting have been added. Over the years, local bands from all over have performed different genres of music for all ages.

This is a free-will-offering, family-friendly event for all ages with live music, a cornhole tournament, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, and fun, raising money for a good cause. Zephyr Fest 2026 is set for Saturday, June 20th, at the York County Fairgrounds.

The proceeds of this year’s event will be presented to the York County Suicide Prevention Coalition. Working with Soaring for C and the JJ Vanderheiden Memorial Foundation, the York County Suicide Prevention Coalition’s mission is to save lives, foster hope, and build a community where no one feels alone in their darkest moments. They are a group of dedicated individuals – mental health professionals, educators, survivors, advocates, and concerned citizens – united by a shared commitment to prevent suicide and support those affected by it. Through education, outreach, and collaboration, they strive to break the silence around mental health and create a culture of compassion and connection.

Join us for a full day of live music, food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, a cornhole tournament, and lots of fun!

Zephyr Fest 2026 will feature an artist acoustic showcase performance by Brandon Logston and Isaac Sulzle along with band performances by The Wicked, Chaos N Motion, The Kyle Sayler Band, and Matic Impulse (Formerly Iron Zephyr)  for their 20-year “comeback” reunion. Festival goers are encouraged to bring their friends, family, lawn chairs, beverages, and a pop-up tent!

Please join us for the 6th Annual Zephyr Fest, Rockin’ For A Reason, on Saturday, June 20th at the York County Fairgrounds.
