The York County Historical Association’s ballot measure, which would raise taxes by 62 cents per $100,000 of property, appears to have succeeded. Unofficial totals show that 1,473 county residents voted for it, and 782 voted against it.
Members and volunteers of the association gathered on Wednesday morning to celebrate.
“If things went south, I was gonna take it personally,” Amy Pohl said, half-jokingly. “So many sleepless nights and worrying.”

- Erik Friesen, 254
