Heartland competed in the annual District Music Contest held at Centennial last Thursday and Friday and came home with plenty of superior ratings!
“Heartland students performed very well. Twenty-one Heartland entries performed at the district music contest, and 21 of them received Division 1 Superior ratings. While it’s not always about the ratings, it does show that our students were prepared and performed well,” said Heartland vocal instructor Lynn Hall.
“As their music teacher, it’s my job to never totally be satisfied and to always push them a little further. We are looking forward to taking what we learned at the contest and applying it to rehearsals as we prepare for our Tuesday, May 5, spring concert. Our students were greatly aided in their preparation by Lisa Kroeker, student teacher Mallory Tremaine, and our collaborating pianists Chelsea Vaught, Hendric Switzer, and Karla Block.”
