The team of Meggan Friesen, Mia Hiebner, and Tara Buzek with their first medals of the season!
The Heartland Girls Golf Team traveled to Valley View Golf Course outside of Central City for an opening three-person scramble event. There were three divisions, and the Heartland team of Tara Buzek, Meggan Friesen, and Mia Hiebner competed in Division One. They placed third with a sizzling score of 69!
Grand Island Central Catholic won the scramble, scoring a 66, and Aurora was in second place with a 68. In Division Two, the Bearcat team of Haley Beck, Kinsley Friesen, and Hallie Tessman scored a 94. Freshman Brinley Mierau played nine holes on the combined Central City and Wood River team, scoring a 55 on nine holes.
Last year, the team of Mia Hiebner, Tara Buzek, and Emersyn Oswald scored a 76 (38-38) but were one shot shy of third place in Division One.
