York County Commissioners to Hold Last Meeting of the Fiscal Year

 When the York County Commissioners meet in regular session on Tuesday, June 24, it will be the last meeting of the fiscal year.

​The county’s fiscal year runs from July to July.
On the county board’s agenda for Tuesday:

  • The commissioners will consider transferring budget authority within the general fund.
  • They will meet with Carmen Hinman from Hope Crisis Center as she makes her annual report and budget request.
  • Jon Dey from Blue Valley Behavioral Health will provide his annual report and budget request.
  • Shari Weber from Blue Valley Community Action will make her annual report and budget request.
  • Carrie Rodriguez, head of District 5 Probation, will meet with the commissioners to discuss funding for the next fiscal year.
  • They will consider payment for the county’s highway allocation bond.
  • They will hear information about the Juvenile Services Commission Grant Program.
  • A conversation will be held about an agreement between the Nebraska Department of Transportation and the York County Public Transportation program.
  • The commissioners will discuss and act on the weed superintendent position.
  • As the board of equalization, the commissioners will review the under/over report provided by York County Assessor Kurt Bulgrin. They will also discuss action on the valuation protests heard June 10. There will also be a discussion about valuation protests.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting which will begin at 8:30 a.m., in the commissioners’ meeting room which is located on the main floor of the courthouse.
