The Lady Huskies took on the BDS Eagles in the 1st round of the D1-2 Subdistricts at Fillmore Central last night and pulled off the exciting win by the score of 39-35.  It wasn’t exactly how the Lady Huskies drew it up last night but they were able to extend their season for a chance to take on Exeter-Milligan in the D1-2 Subdistrict Finals on Thursday night at 7:00 pm.

The Huskies were led in scoring by Senior Mikaelyn Dick who knocked in 15 points after being held to only 3 points in the 1st half.  It was a game of short runs by both teams and was a defensive battle a majority of the game with both teams struggling offensively. However, when the Huskies needed baskets they made them.  With 4:20 remaining in the game the Huskies found themselves down 27-31.  But the Huskies would go on a 12-4 run to end the game led by Junior Bailey Carr, with four points late in the 4th, and Mikaelyn Dick, who knocked in two 3 pointers and a pair of free throws late in the 4th to post the final score of 39-35.

The Huskies will look forward to a rematch with the 19-4 Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves on Thursday night who defeated the Huskies earlier in the season when Exeter-Milligan defeated Heartland by the score of 36-49.
