A fundraising Benefit will be held for Shane and Tina Siebert to cover costs of bringing Shane home to his family after two years of living in care facilities.

Life is not always easy. For Shane and Tina Siebert, life has been rather different than they could have ever anticipated it would be and it definitely has not been ‘easy’.  Shane, son of Chery and Don Siebert suffered a cerebral aneurysm in October, 2009.  Since then, he has been away from his wife, Tina and young son, Eli and been living in care facilities in Omaha.

However, life will start to get a little bit brighter for Shane, Tina and Eli because Shane is coming home to Lincoln and moving back in to the family’s home!  This is a long awaited reuniting for the family, but in order for Shane to be able to transition back home, definite home renovation needs to happen.

In preparation for the homecoming, the Siebert’s small home needs to become handicap accessible and equipped for twenty-four hour care. Construction has been started and in order to cover the costs of the project, family members are hosting a fundraiser in Lincoln calling it the Shane and Tina Siebert Benefit.

This will be a pancake feed and silent auction held on Saturday, October 29th from 9am to 11:30am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Gymnasium before the Husker game.  Everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear Husker gear for a chance to win a pair of Husker football tickets!

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is located at the intersection of 61st Street and Morrill Ave in Lincoln.  Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $7 per person.  Children 5 and under attend free of charge.

This is a great opportunity to have a good breakfast and some fun in Lincoln before the Husker game and more importantly, to support a very special family who has had such a long road and has a much anticipated reuniting ahead of them.
