Heartland Girls Golf Place First
t was an excellent start for the Heartland Girls' golf team at their first event on Thursday, August 17, at Valley View Golf Course outside of Central City. Team members Mia Hiebner and Tara Buzek fired a low record setting score of 63 placing first in the Division 1 competition.

When they say racing is in your blood, it’s entirely true for Marc Peters. His father, who was a racing fan, began taking Marc to Sunday afternoon weekly dirt track races at the Aurora County Fairgrounds when he was about four years old, and he was hooked!

New head girls volleyball coach Ashton (Kroeker) Brown is excited to take over the program this year. She is no stranger to the Heartland volleyball program since she first served as a volunteer reserve coach two years ago and was an assistant varsity coach last year.

Under the guidance of experienced head coach Ben Lindsay, the Heartland Huskie football team plans on competing this year. Coach Lindsay has been at the helm for the past six years and served as an assistant for three years prior to taking the head coaching position.
Maltsberger, Peters Compete at Sertoma All-Star Football Game
HASTINGS – Three area athletes capped their prep football careers last week as they suited up for the East team at the Sertoma Eight-Man All-Star game at Hastings College. Cross County's Trevor Bolton saw reps as the starting center, while Heartland had two representatives at the game in offensive lineman Merrick Maltsberger and Trev Peters in the secondary.

Galaway Creek had its first-ever Member Guest Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 24, with ten teams entered. It was a beautiful day and the course was in tip top shape for the golfers.
