The Henderson 13/U Girls Black Team came into the final championship game undefeated, but ended their outstanding season with a loss to Hampton on Thursday night. Coach Burgess said, “It was a tough loss to swallow, but the girls had a great season at 10-1.”

“Taylor Schmidt pitched a great first three innings, and Jada Quiring pitched a good top of the fourth inning. We were down 2-3 going into the bottom of the 4th. We finally had a good batting inning and came up with six runs to make the score 8-3 going into the 5th,” said Coach Burgess.

Hampton came back, scoring several runs later in the game, and got ahead by one. Unfortunately, the Henderson offense stalled out in the bottom of the 5th inning and ended up losing 8-9, according to Coach Burgess.

“The girls had a great season, and we are really proud of the way they played together this year. It’s been a fun group of girls!” said Coach Burgess.

Congratulations to the Henderson Girls Black team for such a winning season!
