Mother Nature did her thing again this week with rain and more rain delaying many tournament games. But the Henderson 13/U Maroon Boys’ team got one in for a big win last night in Hampton before the rain began. The girls weren’t so lucky over in Phillips, where the storm had hit with heavy rain. Their game was postponed until tonight (Thursday) in Phillips at 8 p.m..
It was an exciting game for the Henderson Maroon team, beating undefeated Giltner 2-1. Carter Peters started the game with some great pitching, and Micah Haidle came in to close it out in the last two innings.
Roddek Friesen made a double play at first base, catching a line drive and tagging out the player on base to end the 4th inning.
Giltner had the winning run up at the plate with two outs in the bottom of the 5th, and the batter hit a fly ball to right field where Jack Bearinger caught it for the final out to get the win.

These boys will be “graduating” out of the 13/U Henderson team – Micah Haidle, Liam Swanson, Carter Peters, Jack Bearinger, and Cashton Meyer.
Henderson 16/U Results
The Henderson girls’ softball team closed out their regular season at home on Wednesday night, losing a doubleheader to David City 6-17 and 9-10.
