It was a beautiful evening for football on Friday night, but not so much for the Bearcats. After a scoreless first quarter for both teams, it was the Panthers who found a way to strike first in the second quarter. The Bearcats couldn’t stop the Panthers’ run game as they continued to drive down the field in the second and third quarters.
Coach Jereme Jones:
“We made too many mistakes tonight against a really good Hershey team. I am happy with our effort and the way we fought until the end of the game. If we can eliminate turnovers and penalties, we will make a big jump next week.”

A 9/11 Remembrance program was held prior to the game on Friday night. Eleven starters from each team were individually introduced and entered the field holding a flag. Area EMTs, firefighters, and law enforcement were introduced and joined in the ceremony. The National Anthem was played by the Heartland Pep Band, and the Heartland Ensemble sang “God Bless America” to end the program. Eric Allgood narrated the program, during which the audience stood and observed 25 seconds of silence to remember the Americans who died and served 25 years ago.
