Congratulations to Heartland senior Mia Hiebner, who recently signed a letter of intent to play golf at Arizona Christian University in Glendale, Arizona, and also accepted the Dean’s Scholarship.
“I went to visit there in November, and it checked off all my boxes as far as what I wanted in a Christian school and in the golf program. The coach used to play in the LPGA, so I’m very excited about playing for her; It should be a great learning experience for me,” said Hiebner.
Her coach at Heartland for the past three years, Chad Buzek, is really excited for this opportunity for Mia. “She has worked extremely hard over her high school career to accomplish this goal. Her dedication and strong work ethic will really help her be successful at the next level.”
HeartlandBeat has followed Hiebner’s outstanding high school golf career, watching her compete at state each year, where she medaled all four years: Freshman 13th, Sophomore 4th, Junior 2nd, and Senior 3rd place.
We will miss her competitive spirit and high level of consistent play in the golf program, but know she is more than ready to compete at the collegiate level.
