It wasn’t a good night for the Bearcats on Tuesday when the Sutton Mustangs and Fillies came to Heartland. The girls lost 65-14, and the boys lost 80-44.
The Sutton Fillies were just too much to handle for the Bearcat girls, holding them to single digits every quarter. They took a commanding lead in the first quarter, scoring 28 points to the Bearcats’ five, and never looked back. Leading the scoring for the Bearcats was Grace Splinter with seven points, and for the Fillies, it was Isabella Trejo with 15.

The Bearcat boys struggled to find any offensive rhythm against the Mustangs, who played smothering defense. The Mustangs had just suffered a loss against Freeman on Saturday when they only scored 28 points, but they were hitting lights out against the Bearcats, scoring one of their biggest wins with 80 points.
Freshman Jagger Regier led the Bearcats with 13 points, and Wyatt Dose, who was back from an injury, had 11. Sutton had three players in double figures, led by freshman Myles Smith with 17, Jacob Huxall with 16, and Peyton Reed with 16.
